Welfare Ministry

Welcome to our Welfare Ministry!

wellfare

The Welfare team of Word Pastures believes we are mandated to bring people together, strengthen relationships and create bonds between our members through love.  We oversee the general welfare administration.

Vision

The purpose of the team is to respond and cater to individuals spiritual and emotional needs by helping the less fortunate and needy coupled with reaching out to our surrounding community.

Mission

The team allows the church to show compassion through support and acts of kindness imitating Jesus Christ as echoed in James 1:27. We organise teams to visit members when a need arises such as when a member gives birth, a wedding, bereavement or when a member is hospitalised to name a few.

Aims and Objectives

  • To demonstrate the love of Christ through practical care and support for those in need within the church and local community.
  • To uphold the dignity and worth of every individual, ensuring that no one feels forgotten or alone in times of difficulty.
  • To provide holistic support—meeting physical, emotional, and spiritual needs through acts of service and connection.
  • To identify and respond to the welfare needs of church members and the community through structured outreach and care programs.
  • To provide assistance in the form of food, clothing, financial aid, transportation, counselling referrals, and other practical resources.
  • To encourage church-wide involvement in giving, volunteering, and supporting welfare projects as an expression of Christian love and community.

The heart of the Welfare Team is to be a living expression of God’s love and compassion. As we serve the needs of others, we are fulfilling Christ’s command to love our neighbour and bear one another’s burdens.

This ministry is not just about meeting physical needs—it is about restoring hope, affirming dignity, and building a caring community where every individual feels seen, valued, and supported. We serve not for recognition, but out of obedience to God and love for His people.

As we continue this work, may we remain sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, faithful in our service, and unified in our mission. Together, we are not just offering help—we are offering Christ.

Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me.” Matthew 25:40
