Welcome to our Intercessory Ministry!
We are the Intercessory Prayer Team of Fountain Gate Chapel, Croydon. A group of believers committed to standing in the gap through prayer and spiritual warfare. Our mission is to seek God’s heart, intercede for the needs of our church, community, and the world, and to partner with the Holy Spirit in birthing God’s purposes through consistent, Spirit-led prayer.
Vision
We envision a team of watchmen on the wall—alert, united, and empowered by the Holy Spirit—who carry the burden of prayer with humility, boldness, and love. Our desire is to create an atmosphere where the presence of God is welcomed, the voice of God is heard, and the power of God is released through intercession.
Mission
To be watchmen and gatekeepers—covering our pastors, ministries, and members in prayer, discerning the times, and responding with boldness and compassion. We believe prayer is not just a support ministry—it is the foundation. Nothing of eternal value happens without prayer.
As intercessors, we carry a sacred responsibility and a divine privilege—to stand in the gap, to hear heaven’s call, and to respond with unwavering faith and love. We are not just praying people; we are spiritual warriors, watchmen, and vessels through whom God moves.
Our commitment is to remain steadfast in prayer, united in spirit, and sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. We believe that as we intercede, God will move mightily—healing the broken, restoring the weary, empowering the Church, and transforming our communities.
Aims and Objectives
- To partner with God through prayer in advancing His kingdom and will on earth, beginning with our local church.
- To cultivate a culture of prayer within the church—encouraging consistent, Spirit-led intercession among believers.
- To stand in the gap for individuals, families, the church, community, and the nations through fervent and effective prayer.
- To be spiritually watchful and discerning, identifying and confronting spiritual challenges through prayer and prophetic insight.
- To intercede regularly for the pastors, leaders, ministries, and members of the church, covering them in prayer.
- To maintain a spirit of unity and confidentiality, fostering trust and accountability within the prayer team.
- To respond promptly and prayerfully to urgent needs, crises, and spiritual burdens revealed by the Holy Spirit.
- To build spiritual stamina and maturity among team members through personal devotion, fasting, and Scripture study.
- To collaborate with other ministries to ensure that every activity in the church is covered by prayer and spiritual support.
May we continue to seek God’s heart above all else, walk in holiness, and never grow weary in well-doing. For in due season, we shall see the fruit of our intercession.
